Congratulations to XLAB Champion Daniela Ryf - now 3X Kona World Champion!

Daniela Ryf stormed the star-studded field to take home her 3rd consecutive Kona World Title. Her sizzling performance makes her the 4th woman to take home the World Title 3X in a row. XLAB has proudly supported FIVE athletes that have accomplished this same feat, and Daniela’s big win makes 32 World Titles for the star slate of XLAB Champions.

Despite a self-proclaimed weary start, Angry Bird was able to find the extra gear on the bike to make up over five minutes in less than 25 miles. She sailed into T2 with the day’s fastest bike split - a powerhouse 4:53:10. Launching out of T2, she continued to extend her lead throughout the marathon. She clinched the title once again in a total time of 8:50:47.

What were Daniela’s red-hot picks for this year’s race? Ryf Rocks the Field to Claim her 3rd 70.3 Worlds Title

Daniela Ryf soared over a challenging bike course to take her 3rd 70.3 World Championship win in Chattanooga! On top of being the only athlete to win back-to-back titles, Ryf also became the only woman to win the 70.3 Worlds three times.

The newly designed race course was world championship ready, taking athletes up an 1,100 ft climb towards the famed Lookout Mountain. With gradients pushing more than 8 percent, the course mirrored many of the hills Ryf trains on in her home Switzerland. Her unrelentless drive on these challenging climbs sent her into T2 with a 2:20:21 bike split and a commanding 8:42 lead on the field.

She held on to the lead on the run, rounding out her 3rd 70.3 Worlds Title with a 4:11:59 - a 6:37 margin of victory over the second place finisher. Van Lierde Leads the Way to Decisive Victory in France

XLAB Champion Frederik Van Lierde ran away with his 7th full-distance win this weekend at IRONMAN France!

The hot conditions made way for a challenging course, but Van Lierde positioned himself from the get-go to implement his plan for race day. His strong effort to stay in the lead on a bike course riddled with 2,000 meters of daunting climbs proved successful as he pulled into T2 with a 26-second lead on the field.

Van Lierde fully controlled the field all the way to the finish, breaking the tape with an 8:31:31, nearly 5 minutes ahead of the closest contender. Frederik gained the extra aerodynamic advantage with 3 of XLAB’s superior cages each engineered for specific areas of the bike, perfectly selected for his screaming fast Cervelo P5X. He was outfitted with high-grip Gorilla cages, and Torpedo aerobar cage perfect for horizontal placement.

Ryf Reigns Over Roth With 11:35 Margin of Victory

XLAB celebrates two big victories this weekend! XLAB Champion Daniela Ryf crushed the field at the legendary Challenge Roth. Challenge Roth was also the scene of Europe’s first official equipment count, where officials tallied the choice gear of 3,300 individual competitors. XLAB was named the #1 choice in rear hydration systems!

Ryf’s red-hot 4:37:33 bike split blasted the field and rocketed to the top of the record list. Helle Frederiksen 2nd Place on Home Turf at 70.3 European Champs

Despite a calf injury that nearly left her sidelined, XLAB Champion Helle Frederiksen overcame the odds and took home the 2nd place finish at the 70.3 European Championship last weekend.

Frederiksen led a star-studded field out of the water. Her powerhouse 2:16:35 bike split posted the second fastest time of the day amongst the pro women. Frederiksen finished the race to an energized, cheering crowd in her home country of Denmark.

Helle outfitted her bike with many of XLAB’s top time-saving equipment. Her choice for front-end hydration was the Torpedo Versa 500, the only bicycle accessory to be nominated for an Interbike Innovation Award. Angry Bird Soars Over Switzerland

XLAB Champion Daniela “Angry Bird” Ryf took home victory at 70.3 Switzerland this weekend. She took the crown in 2014 and 2015, making this her third victory on her home course.

Ryf led out of the water, riding conservatively on the bike for a 2:29:16 split and the 2nd fastest bike split of the day. Her 1:25:06 half marathon gave her the day’s fastest run split and clinched the win by nearly two minutes.
